Ideal to serve with dried fruits or ice cream, these dried apricots macerated with Mistela from El Priorat (a sweet Catalan liqueur) have been produced by the legendary Casa Gispert from Barcelona.
It was back in 1851 when Josep Gispert founded Casa Gispert in the old town in Barcelona. This was a wholesale warehouse of colonial products such us coffee, tea, cacao and species coming from America. Later on, Casa Gispert specialised in the roasting of coffee and dried fruits and in the making of specialities from dried fruits.
Nowadays, the shop keeps the vintage furniture and the old wood oven –unique in Europe- where still today, just like a century ago, they keep roasting a variety of dried fruits.
In 1999 Casa Gispert was awarded the Coq d´Or, which distinguishes their exceptional products and recognises them as one of the 10 best food artisans in Europe.
